How we became global leaders in green roof and living wall design
June 1996
Our original plant wholesale business began trading on Aldingbourne Nurseries.
March 2005
We began supplying, and installing green roofs, experimenting with various green roof systems.
August 2008
Initial demand from architects for living wall systems, a new niche provision in the market. We began extensive research and development into a broad spectrum of living wall systems.
September 2010
First major living wall project completed in the UK at Westfield Shopping Centre, this was heavily promoted in the press and lead to massive interest in living walls and the Viritopia Living Wall system in particular.
October 2010
New branding for 'Viritopia Group Europe' as we were first known, this changed to 'Viritopia' following rapid expansion abroad.

First interior living wall installed at XL Catlin office in London
May 2011
Viritopia Living Screen developed as a mobile living wall unit for homes, offices and hotels.
May 2012
Company trip to Holland to meet with a large network of plant suppliers.
March 2013
New modular green roof system developed following years of experience with living roofs. Initially branded as 'InstaGrufe'.
February 2014
First Viritopia MossArt preserved moss wall installed at Deloitte in Edinburgh.
September 2015
We further improved our green roof offering into a DIY green roof kit and rebranded it as 'GrufeKit'
June 2016
Viritopia office refurbishment, transforming our head office.
January 2017
Viritopia celebrate the ten year anniversary of the Viritopia Living Wall system.

1st Viritopia Living Wall installed in Australia at Gosford Private Hospital.
