The Geneva Auto Show is one of the most important events in the automotive industry calendar. Every exhibitor feels the pressure to put together a stand that will do their new vehicle launch justice.Jaguar Land Rover works hard on reducing its environmental impact. It won the BITC Responsible Business of the Year award in 2013, so the Geneva and Paris motor shows are a perfect opportunity to reinforce those green credentials.

The living wall

A creative design company, imagination, had been appointed to create a state of the art, 1500m² exhibition stand for the show. They came to us to design an interior living wall as the backdrop to the all-important client meeting area on-stand: a green wall 4.75m wide by 2.5m high.

Our living wall design featured more than 10 varieties of interior plants which are native to the area, including Hypoestes red, Asplenium nidus, Cholorophytum ocean, Rhipsalis cassutha, Spathiphyllum sweet benito and Maranta fascinator.

Our choices created a beautiful swathe of colour and leaf shape variation that provided a calming and positive environment for Jaguar Land Rover's client meetings. The living wall also had a built-in irrigation system and integrated drainage system so that the exhibitors had zero maintenance to worry about during the exhibition.

Temporary installations

Our concept enables the living wall to be taken from show to show to be planted up each time with species native to the city for each show; we're already in talks for future shows in Beijing, Paris and Los Angeles. As with all of our temporary interior living wall installations, after the show all the plants were donated to a local charity.
