London’s financial district isn’t the place you’d associate first with greenery, gardens, stress-relief and eco-friendly efforts, but a new commercial office building provides all of these as well as an attractive addition to the city skyline.
Moorgate Exchange is being built by Skanska on the site of an old telephone exchange. It’s a 12-storey building, with stepped areas appearing in the elevation as it reaches above the original telephone exchange height. The developers have lofty ambitions of achieving both BREEAM Excellent rating and LEED Platinum, so the architects have designed garden terraces on those dramatic stepped areas of the building – calming outdoor havens for stressed City workers to enjoy.
To help meet planning requirements, our green roofs are planted with local flora and fauna, creating shade and a tranquil, natural and bio-diverse backdrop in an area famous for its glass and concrete.
