Client Background

Modernizing their Swiss headquarters, the refurbishment of the WHO campus in Geneva was split into two phases: construction of the new building, finishing in 2020; and renovation of the existing main building, to be completed by 2024.  We were involved in the second phase of works, which involved over 100m2 of interior living walls.

A stark contrast

Against the white bare concrete look of the open plan areas of the building, the lush greenery creates a stark contrast with stunning effect.  Based on a tropical plant palette, the design team have focused on providing maximum biophilic impact, using the plant palette to create a variety of patterns, colours and textures to form a truly unique experience.

Installing the walls

Our installations team worked with our Swiss team to ensure the living walls were installed to a high standard and on-time.  Future Eco-systems, our certified partner in Zurich, commandeered this project and together, is our largest internal living wall in Europe!
