Project Background

On central London’s doorstep, SEGRO’s new estate in Tottenham boasts eight Grade ‘A’ industrial units combined with office space and outdoor terraces.  But it’s much more than an industrial estate.  This park has impressive environmental credentials, including a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating, EPC A+ and a carbon negative for regulated energy use base build.

The living walls

As our 5th project with SEGRO, our work here involved working with the main contractor, VolkerFitzpatrick, to design and integrate 200 square metres of our natural modular living wall system over 8 different areas.

The environmental benefits

Altogether, this involves 19,200 plants bedded in 9.6 tonnes of natural soil.  The latter is key for long-term plant health, as the plants are in their natural growing medium, thus more resilient.  These plants will produce 340kg of oxygen every year through the process of photosynthesis, and the soil and plants together will trap 26kg of dust every year.
